Display Test

Display & Color Test

Read your screen: resolution, bit depth, gamut, then run dead-pixel, grayscale, sharpness and standard-chart checks.

Display Information

“Full logical resolution” is the whole-screen pixels; “Current window viewport” is the browser usable area (minus tab bar, address bar and taskbar). Press F11 for full screen to make them closer. Read live by the browser.

Gamut Estimate

Browsers cannot read the real display gamut — these are industry reference values for comparison.

Note: sRGB covers ~35% of visible color, Display P3 ~45%, Adobe RGB ~50%, and NTSC 92% ≈ 100% sRGB.

Dead / Stuck Pixel Test

Open the full-screen solid color mode to inspect for pixels that stay dark or always lit. Press Esc to exit.

Check red / green / blue / white / black in turn, and look for lit pixels on pure black.

Grayscale & Gradient Test

A smooth black-to-white ramp checks whether gray tones are even and whether banding appears.

Horizontal grayscale
Neutral grayscale (banding check)

Visible bands instead of a smooth ramp suggest average grayscale performance.

Sharpness & Contrast Test

White-on-black text and blocks check whether glyph edges are crisp and contrast is solid.

Standard test swatches below — compare this page side-by-side with another device to see color-reproduction differences.

Screen self-check tips

  • Test in real full-screen (F11) with night-light / blue-light filters off for accuracy.
  • On pure black look for lit pixels; on pure white look for dark spots.
  • For real calibration use a hardware colorimeter (e.g. Spyder); software can only give a rough read.
  • Different screens have different white points — compare at the same brightness and tint.

About this tool

📘

Display test reads resolution, bit depth and gamut, and offers dead-pixel, grayscale, sharpness and 24-color chart tests to self-check your screen.

  • Press F11 for full screen so "full resolution" and "viewport" are closer; the values come from the browser live.
  • Dead-pixel test: look for bright dots on pure black and dark dots on pure white; grayscale banding hints at a weaker panel.
  • The page cannot read the true gamut — compare the 24-color chart side-by-side with another device; for accurate calibration use a hardware tool.

Tips

💡
  • After F11 full screen, “full resolution” and “current viewport” get closer; values are read live by the browser.
  • For dead pixels, hunt bright dots on pure black and dark dots on pure white; banding means rough grayscale.
  • The page cannot read the real gamut; compare the 24-color chart side-by-side with another device.
