HEX
The hexadecimal notation used across the web, like #FF5733. It is simply another way of writing RGB, easy to type and remember.
RGB
An additive model built from red, green and blue light. This is how screens physically produce color, with each channel from 0–255.
HSL / HSV
Describes color as hue, saturation and lightness (or value). Far more intuitive for humans, ideal for building tints and scales.
CMYK
The subtractive model used in print (cyan, magenta, yellow, key). Screen-to-print numbers are approximate — always confirm with a proof.
LAB / LCH
Device-independent, perceptually uniform spaces. The most accurate basis for color difference (ΔE) and accessible palette work.
About this tool
📘The converter translates between HEX/RGB/HSL/HSV/CMYK/LAB/LCH; any input is recognized and the rest are filled in automatically.
- Paste or type any color format in the input and the other formats sync instantly.
- Tap Copy to grab a ready-to-use snippet for CSS / code.
- CMYK is print-oriented, so an on-screen RGB converting to it looks darker — that is expected; confirm print colors with your designer.
Tips
💡- Converts among HEX/RGB/HSL/HSV/CMYK/LAB/LCH; any input is auto-detected and the rest filled in.
- CMYK is for print; RGB→CMYK looks darker on screen — that is expected.
- Use “Copy” to grab the snippet in the right syntax for your CSS/code.
